Jurgen Klopp has admitted his excitement towards linking back up with the LFC Foundation next month.

The legendary former Reds boss became the charity’s first ever honorary ambassador when he left the club last summer, having spent several years working closely with the LFC Foundation during his time on Merseyside.

It was recently revealed that Klopp is scheduled to appear at the organisation’s upcoming Gala Ball on May 23, having also been invited to attend the Reds’ final home game of the Premier League season against Crystal Palace two days later.

Confirming the charity appearance, Klopp told Liverpool media: “Everyone knows how much I love the work of LFC Foundation and I can’t wait to join them to celebrate that work and help to raise important funds for them to continue the incredible things they are doing.”

Matt Parish, chief executive of LFC Foundation, added: “We are looking forward to this year’s Gala Ball and we are delighted that Jurgen will be joining us to support the event.

“Jurgen was a fantastic advocate for our work during his time at the club and we appreciate his ongoing support, and hope as many people as possible can join us on what is sure to be a memorable night and an opportunity to raise funds to allow us to continue to grow and support even more people in our communities, as well as supporting Forever Reds.”

Liverpool’s confirmation of the appearance does not include any details of a possible Anfield return for Klopp, who has already promised to join in any Premier League title celebrations.

The German, now working as Red Bull’s head of global soccer, has previously admitted his hesitance towards a matchday return, admitting he does not want to “jinx” the players while they attempt to lift the trophy.

Currently 11 points clear with seven games to go, Liverpool are expected to be confirmed as Premier League champions well before their season finale.
