Manchester United are closing in on a deal to sign 18-year-old Le Havre striker Enzo Kana-Biyik, reports have revealed.

Attack is a key area of concern for United heading into the summer transfer window after a bitterly disappointing campaign in front of goal, with work to bolster in the final third already well underway. Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha is a key target, with interest in Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap likely to be ramped up once the club’s relegation is confirmed and his £30m release clause becomes active.

While the need for immediate reinforcements is significant, United remain on the hunt for talents capable of bolstering the senior squad in the future and reports earlier this week named Kana-Biyik as a target.

The 18-year-old, who has nine goals in 14 appearances for Le Havre’s under-19 side this season, is approaching the end of his contract and L’Equipe state talks with United are now at an advanced stage.

Le Parisien go one step further and add that Kana-Biyik and his representatives have already reached an agreement with United over a summer switch to Old Trafford.

Le Havre have not yet given up hope of retaining Kana-Biyik, but their failure to hand him any senior opportunities this season – the striker has been an unused substitute on two occasions – means a summer departure is likely.

United have already presented their plan to Kana-Biyik, who is expected to be sent out on loan to fellow INEOS-owned side Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland for the 2025/26 campaign to give him his first taste of senior football.

In the short term, United will continue to work on bolstering Ruben Amorim’s forward line and could use money generated by a potential sale of Rasmus Hojlund to fund a big-money striker signing.

A decision will also have to be made on 17-year-old Chido Obi. The former Arsenal youngster is incredibly highly rated and already has five senior appearances for United, who could consider sending Obi out on loan next year.
