Xavi Simons has left the door open to a possible summer transfer away from RB Leipzig in response to interest in his services from the Premier League’s elite.

Despite only joining Leipzig permanently in January after 18 months on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, Simons is thought to be available again this summer, with several top sides interested in the 21-year-old.

Manchester United were the first to be mentioned, before it was revealed long-term admirers like Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool remain interested in snapping Simons up this summer in a deal which is expected to be worth around the £60m mark.

Quizzed on his future by Sky Sports Germany, Simons made no secret of admitting he has already informed Leipzig of his goals for the future, but stopped short of offering up any specifics.

“I’m still a young player, I have many dreams – and the club knows that,” he said. “But right now, the most important thing for me is to play well in the upcoming games.

“Then we have the international matches, and after that we’ll sit down and see what happens.”

Simons has attracted international interest ever since his days in the Barcelona youth academy. Chelsea failed with approach at just 12 years old and, by 14, Simons boasted a whopping 1m followers on Instagram.

He joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in 2019 without having made a senior appearance for Barcelona, and would go on to join PSV Eindhoven for free three years later in a deal which included a bargain buy-back clause for the French side.

22 goals and 11 assists in 48 games in the Netherlands reassured suitors he was capable of making an impact in senior football – an opinion which has only grown with an impressive spell with Leipzig.
